Ingredients
Steps
Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and brush a baking dish with melted butter.
Mix the walnuts with cinnamon in a bowl.
Layer about 8 sheets of phyllo in the dish, brushing each sheet with melted butter.
Sprinkle a third of the walnut mixture over the phyllo, then repeat layering phyllo and nuts twice more.
Top with the remaining phyllo sheets, buttering each layer, then cut into diamond shapes with a sharp knife.
Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden and crisp.
Meanwhile, simmer the sugar, water, honey, and lemon juice for 10 minutes to make the syrup.
Pour the warm syrup over the hot baklava right after it comes out of the oven.
Let it sit uncovered for a few hours to absorb the syrup before serving.
Keep phyllo covered with a damp towel while working to stop it from drying out.
