About
Private beta · Last updated August 2026
I built this because I was tired of scrolling through thousands of words just to find the ingredients and instructions. The goal is simple: get you cooking as quickly as possible.
Every screen here is built around one question — does this click earn its place? If it doesn't, it isn't on the page. No autoplay video, no pop-ups, no childhood anecdote before the flour.
Recipe simplification
Paste a link from anywhere on the web and you get that recipe back as a clean ingredient list and a short set of numbered steps. Wordy instructions are tightened, and long blocks are split into steps you can actually follow while your hands are busy.
Recipe generation
Ask for a dish we don't have and one gets written for you, using cooking references gathered at the time of your request. Generated recipes are labelled as such, and the sources that actually contributed are listed at the bottom.
Personal cookbook
Create a free account and you can save any recipe — ours, generated, or imported — into My Cookbook. You can also store dietary preferences and ingredients to avoid, so new recipes come back the way you cook.
Shopping list
Add a recipe's ingredients to a running shopping list with one click. Duplicates are combined, staples stay unchecked, and the list groups itself by aisle so you can shop from your phone or print it.
Where this is going
Gimme the Damn Recipe is a small independent project, currently in private beta. Things will change, and some of them will break. If something annoys you, use the Feedback link in the footer — that's genuinely how this gets better.
